

Margaret attended Lee Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Jr High & Thomas Jefferson High School, she was a graduate of the class of ‘57. She, also, attended Port Arthur College Business School.
Margaret's career expanded over various opportunities; Gulf Credit Union, The Men’s Wearhouse doing alterations, Payless Shoes, Walmart Domestics Dept. and stocking overnight. She was the registrar in the emergency room at St. Mary’s Hospital, she loved that job the most. At one time she worked 3 jobs to help pay for her oldest daughter’s medications.
Margaret was a lifelong Catholic, and even strongly considered becoming a nun. She was especially devoted to the Virgin Mary. Life did not follow that direction, and she was married for 23 years and had two daughters. She did everything she could to make their lives better and loved them dearly. She attending St. James for most of her life, then later St. Peter’s, where she enjoyed being in the choir. She considered herself a proud Port Arthurian, where she lived her entire life, except for the last 8 yrs. when she stayed with her younger daughter in Baytown, TX. She sewed very well and loved to cook. She was friendly and warm, and could easily talk to complete strangers.
Margaret, an only child is survived by her daughter Lee Wroten of Baytown and host of cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sydney Wroten; her parents Odillia & C.J. Landry, also her former husband, James R. Wroten.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday September 25, 2021 at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, TX. The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:00 AM with a recitation of The Holy Rosary beginning at 10:00 at Grammier Oberle Funeral Home.
