My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the Abbott family during this time of great loss. I have fond memories of Mrs. Abbott's laughter and great sense of humor. She was always so kind and funny...just a joy to be around. My sincere condolences in a special way to Mary and Lisa. I will continue to pray for you as you move through these next weeks and months of adjusting to life without your mom. God bless.

Mary "Evelyn" Abbott was born on 1/5/1920 and died in her home in Port Arthur on 1/26/2013 at the age of 93.  She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur.  She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Gerard Abbott.   Evelyn was a long time member of Little Flower Catholic Church in Port Acres and an active participant in the Altar Society for many years.

Evelyn is survived by her four children Karen Badgett and her husband DW, Kirk S. Abbott and his wife Linda, Lisa Matthews and her husband Wayne, and Mary Katherine Abbott; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Cureton, Kirk David Abbott, Bryan Fontenot, Misty Abbott, Stacy Cook, Howard Matthews, and Eric Matthews; and seven great-grandchildren, Noah and Mathew Abbott, John Michael Fontenot, Katherine and Rachel Cook, Lawson Matthews and Cayden Bledsoe. 

She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all.
