A native of Port Arthur, Texas, Cathy attended St. Catherine’s Catholic School and Bishop Byrne High School. In 1981, she married Don Hollier and moved to Sugar Land, where they raised their two sons, Brendon and Cory.
Cathy’s life—and career—were full of adventure. Shortly after graduating high school, she became one of the youngest landlords in the area after purchasing rental property in Port Arthur. After moving to Houston, she founded It’z Cathy’s, a jewelry and apparel business that grew into an overwhelming success. Above all, Cathy poured her heart into raising her boys, making sure she was present for the precious moments that childhood brings. She later built a successful career in property management, overseeing large commercial properties in and around Houston.
Known to many as “Chatty Cathy,” she had a soft yet electric personality, an amazing smile, and a truly kind heart. She could often be found with her girlfriends at Corelli’s, sharing Italian food, stories, and a glass of red wine. On weekends, you might see her driving her red Volkswagen convertible around the neighborhood with her golden retriever riding shotgun—or chatting for hours on the phone with her sisters. Cathy will always be remembered for the personal kinship she formed with everyone she met. She never met a stranger and had a gift for turning acquaintances into friends. She lived life beautifully—always with a smile, a can-do spirit, and a work ethic that lifted everyone around her. Her steady optimism left a lasting impression on so many, and it will certainly be her legacy. Above all, Cathy was an incredible mother, sister, daughter and friend to many. Her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, especially by her family.
Cathy adored her two boys with all of her heart and found tremendous joy in being a constant part of their lives. Family was everything to Cathy, and at the center of her world were Brendon and Cory. They shared a lifetime of memories—from road trips across the country, to dedicated Saturday coffee talks, to cherished family holidays. In 2021, Cathy welcomed her first grandchild, Harrison James Hollier, and proudly took on her favorite title: Nana.
Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Antoine Pellerin and Rita Pellerin. She is survived by her sisters, Judy Ancelet, Renee Ancelet, and Theresa Hebert; her brothers, Johnny Pellerin and Bob Pellerin; her sons, Brendon (Amanda) Hollier and Cory (Kathryn) Hollier; and her grandson, Harrison Hollier.
Our family is incredibly grateful for the countless people and organizations who played a role in caring for Cathy in recent years.
