Michael Lynn Thompson

Michael “Mike” Lynn Thompson, 55, of Nederland passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012. Michael was born January 29, 1957, in Port Arthur to the late Charles and Patti Thompson. Michael was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. He proudly graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, class of 1975. Michael was a proud member and served as Trustee for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Port Neches, Aerie #3743. Michael could best be described as an outgoing person who loved people and will be missed by many. His hobbies include golf, billiards and he was a huge sports fan. His family describes him as a loving father, devoted husband, loving brother and trusted friend.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John David Miguez.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of over 18 years, Elizabeth “Beth” Thompson, daughter, Whitney Thompson of Nederland; stepson, Bryan Porter of Groves; stepdaughter, Lisa Porter of Groves; brother, Marty Thompson and his wife Judi of Nederland; stepbrother, Robert B. Miguez, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Lumberton; sister, Tammi Todd of Port Arthur; step father, Robert B. Miguez, Sr., step sisters Sandy and Sue and his faithful pet, Toby.

A Memorial Service celebrating Michael’s life will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, 4841 39th St. Port Arthur, Texas
