

Nolan Joseph Gouthier, Sr., 83, of Port Arthur, TX passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 in Livingston, TX. Nolan was born July 7, 1931 in Port Arthur, TX to Philmore and Victoria Gouthier. He was the youngest of 5 children and the last survivor of his family. Nolan was a kind and humorous person and insisted on making people laugh. He loved baseball and played football at Stephen F. Austin. Nolan served in the United States Air Force as an air policeman for nuclear bombs and traveled all over the world. He loved animals and raised chickens. He retired from Gulf Oil after 36 years of service and was a member of the A.F.L.C.I.O. Union.
Nolan is preceded in death by his parents, Philmore Gouthier and Victoria Lamone Gouthier; brothers, Elton “Bud” Gouthier and Wilburn “Willy” Gouthier; sisters, Rosa Mae Boyd and Drucie “Tootsie” Comeaux. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mildred Gouthier; sons, Nolan J. Gouthier, Jr., and wife, Kim; Phillip Gouthier and wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Jana McInnis, Jessa Gouthier, Phillip Gouthier; and great-grandchildren, Nolan James Gouthier and Bonnie Rose McInnis.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Christian wake service to begin at 7:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
