Known affectionately as "Pat," she was a devout Catholic whose deep faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. Her unwavering spiritual devotion was perhaps her most defining quality, one that inspired all who knew her. Pat was a humble woman who lived with grace, conviction, and quiet strength.
In her youth, Pat was known as the life of the party, vivacious, fun-loving, and full of energy. But it was in motherhood that she found her greatest purpose. Her son, Edward Paul Vance, was the second great love of her life, after her faith, and she dedicated herself to providing for him through a long career in customer service. Her life’s work, in many ways, was a testament to the love and sacrifices of a devoted mother.
Pat also had a love for horses and often spoke fondly of dreams she once had of living on a horse ranch. Though she lived much of her life in Port Arthur, Texas, she spent her later years in Huntsville to be closer to family.
She is survived by her beloved son Edward Paul Vance; her sisters Constance Marie Coignet (Vance) and Peggy Jean Gautreaux (Vance). Ms.Vance also leaves behind a host of family and friends to honor her memory.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Nell Babin and Theodore Christopher Vance; her brother, James William Vance; and her sisters, Joyce Ann Tynan (Vance) and Theodora Nell Vance.
A visitation and rosary will be held in Patricia’s honor on Friday, June 27, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, 4841 39th St, Port Arthur, Texas 77642. A celebration of Patricia's life will follow at 12:30 PM. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, Groves, TX.
Patricia's gentle spirit, strong faith, and loving heart will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
