Paul Wesley Blackwell

Captain Paul Wesley Blackwell, 52, of Woodville, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. Paul was born February 29, 1960 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late George Wesley Blackwell, Jr. and Paula Karen Crawford Blackwell.

Paul is described by his family as a devoted husband, a hardworking provider of his family, and a firm but loving father to his children. Paul was a boat captain and was proud that he turned many boys into men in his days as Captain. He will be missed by many.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wesley Hardin Ethridge, sisters, Karen Renee Blackwell, Sandra Blackwell, and son, Lucas David Aubrey Blackwell.

Paul is survived by his wife, Jan Blackwell; daughter, Jillian House and her husband Earnie; brothers, Darrell Ray Blackwell and his wife Wendy; Andrew Michael Blackwell and his wife Chris; Jeff Duwayne Ethridge and his wife Raina; sister, Tracy Sephornia Blackwell; grandchildren, Johnathan Kochis; Lina House; Aeidyn Aubrey; and Virginia House.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
