Rachel J Lute

Rachel Jean Lute was born to the late Thomas Daniel Lute Jr. and Katherine Dugas- Lute on May 26, 1965 in Galveston, TX. A native of Port Arthur, TX and Compton, CA. Rachel was a long time resident of Houston, TX. Rachel graduated from Harriet Tubman High School in Compton, CA in 1983. Rachel was a CNA for 25 years.

Rachel leaves behind to cherish her memories her boyfriend Bryant “Caveman” Kent Williams of Houston, Texas; Two daughters: LaSonya Lute-Johnson of Orange, TX and her husband, Zackary Johnson and Latanya Bianca Brown-Dorty of Houston, TX and her husband , Kenmon “KD” Dorty; Two Stepsons: Tex Brown, Jr. and Tyreke Jones both of Houston, TX; Eight grandchildren, Five granddaughters & Three grandsons ; Two brothers: Thomas D Lute III ( Safari) of Dioboll, TX and Derrick Keith Lute ( Lorraine) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Two sisters Sharon Baba ( Norris) of Houston, TX and Willette “ Nicey” Lute ( Ricky) of Desert Hot Springs, CA; Four aunts, Joann Mouton-Pugh of Fort Worth, TX ,Charlene Johnson of Port Arthur, TX and Alfretta " Faye" Earnest of Chino, CA, Cora Lute of Los Angeles, CA; Two uncles: Michael Lute Sr. of Port Arthur, TX and John David Lute of Seattle, WA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas D Lute Jr. and Katherine Dugas-Lute; Both sets of paternal grandparents; Uncle Harold James Lute; Cousin Christopher Lute Sr.

Rachel was a free spirit full of life and energy. She made strangers around her feel loved and welcomed. Rachel enjoyed church and would pray for whoever in need. Rachel loved everyone dearly. Rachel was never afraid to die or to live. Rachel was a soldier, strong and fearless. Rachel always spoke her mind and was always ready for a hug. Rachel liked to party and have fun. Rachel always kept her head held up high no matter what.

A Celebration of Life for Rachel will be held at later date due to Covid-19.
