Ramon Vega

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ramon Vega, age 58, of Groves, Texas, who went peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Born in Mexico, Ramon moved to Groves, where he built a life full of love, family, and cherished memories.

Ramon’s greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved wife, Maria Del Carmen Garcia de Vega, and their two children, Ramon Vega Garcia and Isela Vega. Together, they shared countless moments of happiness and laughter. One of Ramon’s most treasured activities was cooking for his family. His Carnitas dish was always a favorite, filling their home with warmth and delicious aromas.

In addition to his love for cooking, Ramon had a deep passion for music. He could often be heard singing around the house or humming a melody while tending to his beloved garden alongside his wife. Ramon took great pride in his garden, enjoying the peaceful moments it offered him outdoors.

Ramon was also known for his love of tinkering with his tractor, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a hardworking, caring man who deeply valued the time spent with his family and the quiet moments he found in nature.

Ramon and his wife, Maria, were happily married for 33 years, a testament to their strong bond and shared love for one another. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ramon is survived by his loving wife, Maria Del Carmen Garcia de Vega; his son, Ramon Vega Garcia; and his daughter, Isela Vega and numerous family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends to share memories of Ramon will be Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. With a Rosary at 6:00 P.M.

A celebration of life for Ramon will be held Friday, April 4th, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 4600 Procter St, Port Arthur, TX 77642, followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, Groves, TX 77619.

Ramon’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, forever cherished and never forgotten.
