Rocky Lorantz Northen, age 47, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Born in Groves, Texas, to Kim Northen and Judy Ruding, Rocky lived a life full of passion, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family and country.
A proud United States Marine, Rocky served his country with honor for three years and six months, including 11 months at sea as a field radio operator. He took immense pride in being a Marine, embodying the values of service, loyalty, and resilience throughout his life.
Rocky was the heart of every gathering, known for his infectious laugh and his larger-than-life presence. Whether he was sharing a story, lending a helping hand, or welcoming people into his home, he had a way of making everyone feel like family. He found joy in the simple things—raising chickens, tending to his garden, fishing, and enjoying time with his friends, family, and neighbors.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Rocky took great pride in his job as a security officer. He approached his work with the same sense of responsibility and commitment that he carried in all aspects of his life. His strong work ethic and determination earned the respect of his colleagues and those who knew him.
In 2015, Rocky married Meghan Northen after reconnecting 20 years later, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. He was a proud and dedicated father to their five children, always ensuring they knew that family comes first.
Most often, Rocky could be found in his garage, surrounded by friends, music playing, reminiscing about the good times. His warmth, kindness, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rocky's legacy will live on in the hearts of his wife, Meghan, their children, his family, and the countless friends who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rocky is survived by his wife, Meghan Northen; his daughter Avery Foley-Heling; his daughter Grace Heling; his daughter Mollie Heling; his son Gunnar Northen; and his daughter Finley Northen; his father Kim Northen and his mother Judy Ruding; his brother Garry J, Smith and his brother Micheal Davis.
Rocky was preceded in death by his brother Nicholas Stoker.
A visitation for Rocky will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A celebration of Rocky Northen's life will occur Friday, March 28, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 4841 39th St, Port Arthur, Texas, 77642. A graveside service with military honors will occur Friday, March 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Rocky will be laid to rest in Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 618 Block Street, Port Neches, Texas 77619.
Serving as pallbearers are Craig Shefield, Jay Smith, Hunter VanHeverbeak, Michael Davis, Richard Shultz and Chris Wood.
