Sharon “Sherry” Stockam Foote, 67, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on November 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for her family. Born on December 18, 1957, Sherry was a woman whose heart was as generous as it was tender, and whose presence brought joy to all who knew her.
Sherry was the devoted wife of John Foote, with whom she shared 21 cherished years of marriage. She is survived by her beloved children: Steve Taylor and wife Rene’, Brandy Gryder, Rachell Johnson, Joshua Foote and wife Breanna Lanvermeier.
Sherry also leaves behind her brothers, James East and wife Michelle and Larry East, along with her sister, Debbie “Deb” Hanks and husband Tom.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren—Quinton, Zach, Madison, Maci, Kurt, Anabelle, Braxton, Makayla, Benjamin, Carson, Kingston, Sebastien, and Gracelyn—each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Ray East and Lucille Marie East; her stepchildren, Johnathon Foote and Elizabeth Harvey and brother, Earl Ray East Jr.; and her sister, Linda Nolan. Sherry carried her loved ones’ memories closely and honored them through the way she lived—full of love, resilience, and kindness.
Sherry had a fun-loving spirit and a personality that could light up any room. She adored Bingo, card games, and anything that brought people together around a table. She was an avid watcher of Dancing with the Stars, and she often found herself in tears during her Hallmark movies. Friends frequently found her socializing and sharing laughter at the Boudain Hut, where she enjoyed the simple pleasure of good company, good music and good food.
In her younger years, Sherry worked as a convenience store manager and also as a substitute teacher, roles that perfectly suited her hardworking nature and her gift for connecting with people. Throughout her life, her love for her children, grandchildren, and family never wavered and remained her most defining joy.
