Tot was preceded in death by his first wife Vu Thi Hai Yen and grandson Dave Mai II. He is survived by his wife, Thuy Dang and his children, Dave Mai and wife, Kristina of Port Arthur, Texas, Duong Mai of Houston, Texas, Luan Mai and wife Peggy of Beaumont, Texas Quynh Mai and wife Crystal of Houston, Texas Linh Mai of San Francisco and Tu Mai-McDaniel and husband Carl of Groves, Texas; brother, Ngoc Van Mai of Houston, Texas; and several other siblings in Vietnam. Left to cherish his memories are his grandchildren, Jacqueline Mai Strickland, Michelle Lang, Lylian Mai, Colin Mai, Dalton Mai, Ashlien McDaniel, Delanhi McDaniel and one great grandchild, Dante Strickland.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2018 with a prayer service to begin from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral service for Mr. Mai will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
