

William Ruiz, Sr., 90, of Groves, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. He was born on June 20, 1921 to Antonio and Juana Ruiz in Galveston, TX.
William was a self employed builder and had served his country in the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed cooking Mexican food, fishing, crabbing, socializing and working.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Tony Ruiz; a sister, Mary Alice Gallegos; his parents and wife Annie Ruiz.
His survivors include a son, William Ruiz, Jr. of Groves; 3 daughters, Delores Feller of Houston, Julie Ann Neff and husband David of Beaumont, Jacque Mullis and husband Brian of Houston; 2 sisters, Lydia Kurtz and husband Leroy of Port Arthur, Delores Miguez of Austin; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A gathering of his family and friends will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur.
Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in the Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home Chapel, Port Arthur with entombment following in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
