

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will also take place at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home in Smithville, TX from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Smithville with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Zita was born on July 26, 1923 in Cistern, TX to Martha Quitta Otahal and Joseph Otahal. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and Altar Society and also attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Zita spent much time in prayer and with her family. She loved to crochet, garden, read, cook, bake and polka dance. She was a very beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Alvin Huebel, Sr.; her parents; 3 brothers, Fred Otahal, Louis Otahal, Joe Otahal; 2 sisters, Mary Ball, Susie Novak and daughter-in-law, Stacie Huebel.
Her survivors include 4 sons, Joe Huebel and wife Sandi of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Al Huebel, Jr. and wife Joy of Austin, Fred Huebel of Houston, Ron Huebel and wife DeLana of Orangefield; 2 daughters, Janice Slaughter and husband Glenn of Guntersville, Alabama, Mary Roedahl and husband Rick of Beaumont; a brother, Ivan Otahal of Houston; a sister, Bertha Psencik of West, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
