Anna D'Apuzzo

Anna D'Apuzzo passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, adored great-grandmother, and dear friend whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her.

Anna was the beloved wife of Ralph, with whom she shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, love, tradition, and countless cherished memories. Among their happiest times were the many trips they took to Italy, where they spent precious time with family and celebrated their heritage.

She was the loving mother of Joseph and his wife, Pam; Steven and his wife, Michele; and Isabella and her husband, John. Anna was also a proud and devoted Nonna to Deanna LaMela and her husband, Nick, Gabriella, Steven Jr., Daniella, Annabella, and Gianna. She was the adored great-grandmother of Gio and Lino, who brought her immeasurable joy.

Family was the center of Anna's world. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by those she loved. She took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home where family, food, and tradition always came together.

Anna's love language was food. Her door was always open to family and friends, and her table was always filled with delicious meals prepared with love. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and cared for. While everything she cooked was memorable, she will be especially remembered for her incredible pizza. For her family, no pizza will ever compare to Nonna Anna's. She also loved tending to her garden, where she grew fresh vegetables, fragrant basil, string beans, and her treasured figs. Watching her family enjoy the food she prepared from her garden brought her as much happiness as growing it.

Anna also loved to shop. Whether it was food, clothing, shoes, jewelry, or something for her home, she found joy in finding just the right thing. She was known for her impeccable taste, and her knack for knowing exactly what she liked and what she didn't. A shopping trip with Anna was never just an errand; it was an adventure, often filled with laughter, stories, and memories that would be talked about long after the day was over.

Anna's quick wit and wonderful sense of humor were among her most beloved traits. She kept us all laughing. No family gathering was complete without her stories, candid observations, and the laughter that naturally followed. She had a way of turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories and could always bring a smile to those around her. Whether sharing a funny story, delivering one of her perfectly timed remarks, or simply enjoying time with family around the table, Anna brought joy wherever she went. The laughter she inspired and the happiness she brought to those around her will be remembered forever.

Anna's warmth, generosity, devotion, and unwavering love for her family will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family traditions, wonderful meals, laughter, and treasured memories that will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever be present in the family gatherings she treasured, the traditions she created, the recipes she passed down, and the love she shared so freely with everyone around her.

In the years ahead, we will honor Anna by keeping those traditions alive. We will gather for pizza on every special occasion, share spaghetti dinners on Sundays, celebrate Christmas with the Feast of the Seven Fishes, play Tombola with family on every holiday and continue the countless customs she lovingly created for us. While no one will ever fill her place at the table, her presence will be felt in every tradition we carry forward, every meal we share, and every story we tell. These are the gifts she leaves behind, and they are memories we will cherish and never forget.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Anna's memory to the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776, on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Gerard Majella CCD, 300 Terryville Road, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776, on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3442 NY-112, Coram, NY 11727.
