Janet was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Karaktin and a loving mother to Kristin Naughton (Peter) and Kevin Karaktin (Trisha). She was a devoted grandmother to Nick, Kevin, John, Ryan, Kasey, Erin and Megan, and an adored great-grandmother to Emiliana, Luciana, Ethan and Everett. She was the cherished sister of Karen Hesekiel (Craig) and the late Arlene Egloff. She is also survived by her dear caretaker, Sandra Sarwan.
Above all else, Janet loved her family and treasured every moment spent together. Her home and heart were always open, and she found great joy in bringing everyone together. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved fur babies, Abby, her cat, and Cooper, her dog.
Janet enjoyed the simple pleasures and special adventures in life, including Disney Cruises, trips to Florida, boating, throwing parties, red wine, strawberry ice cream, QVC, shopping, cleaning and ironing. She loved cooking her famous crepes, celebrating Taco Tuesdays, and especially looking forward to Nanny Fridays with her grandchildren. These traditions and memories will forever be cherished by those who loved her.
Janet will be remembered for her love of family, her generous spirit, and the countless memories she created with those closest to her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 2–4 PM and 7–9 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Prayer service at 8 PM.
