Joseph proudly served in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in San Diego and had the opportunity to travel extensively during his years of service. His time in the Navy helped shape his adventurous spirit and appreciation for the world around him. He married ToniAnn Piteo on May 25th, 1995 and they had their daughter, Lyndsie Taylor, shortly after.
Joseph was a true outdoorsman who felt most at peace surrounded by nature. He loved fishing, hammock camping, snow camping, skiing, kayaking, and spending time at the outer beach on Smith Point. Music was also a huge part of his life, and some of the happiest moments were spent playing Jack Johnson songs on his guitar with his nephews. He treasured trips into New York City with his daughter Lyndsie and he created countless memories with those he loved through simple moments of laughter, adventure, and togetherness.
To his daughter, some of the most cherished memories include summers spent at the Jersey Shore, cooking together, and early morning car rides to school filled with music, conversation, and laughter. Joseph had an unforgettable sense of humor — often dark, always quick, and capable of making everyone around him laugh. He would do absolutely anything for the people he loved, and his loyalty and love for his family never wavered.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother Catherine Flaherty-Franzosa and his Father Joseph Arcand. He was also greeted with open arms by his in laws Majorie and Eugene along with his step brother Troy and niece Lena.
