

Aleja Teodosia Cordova Morocho Flores of Port Saint Lucie, FL passed away on February 18th at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hector Eloy Flores Bravo and her grandchild, Michael Flores. Aleja is survived by her 7 children, Hector, Marcos, Leopoldo, Jose, Juana, Lorena and Veronica; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Kathleen, Leonor, Nicomedes and Avelino.
In 1956, she began her career as an educator at the Fiscal School No. 8 Republica de Francia of Guayaquil. In 1964 she immigrated to the United States from Ecuador, where she continued her career as an educator in the New York City Public School system until retirement. Aleja became a proud United States citizen on January 30, 1974. In the 1990’s Aleja and Hector moved to Port Saint Lucie, Florida. She was a devoted Catholic and regularly attended the St. Lucie Catholic Church. Aleja was a talented painter, gardener, sewer and dancer-she was the matriarch of her family, with a passion for hosting.
Funeral arrangements are provided by Aycock Funeral Home 1504 SE Floresta Drive Port St Lucie, Florida 34983. On Sunday, February 23, 2025, a viewing will be held from 2:00 to 5:00pm. at Aycock Funeral Home. A service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Aycock Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens 6026 North US Highway 1 Fort Pierce, FL. 34946.
