Armindo da Cunha Fernandes

Armindo was born in Portugal and moved to the United States in 1967. He settled in Florida in 2004, having moved from Lynn, Massachusetts. He was a member of the Portuguese American Cultural Club in Florida and a folkloric dance organization, Rancho Folclorico de Norwood and Peabody, Massachusetts. Armindo worked for many years as a Laborer in the Construction Business. He was an avid soccer fan. His favorite team was Sporting from Portugal. Most important to Armindo was the time he spent with his family, as he cherished family get togethers.

Armindo was preceded in death by his wife, Louisa da Cunha de Lima Fernandes; parents, Belmiro da Cunha Fernandes and Conceicao da Cunha; and brother, Carlos Manuel Fernandes.

Survivors include his son, Carlos Lima Fernandes; brother, Carlos Manuel Fernandes; sisters, Tina da Cunha, Alzira da Cunha Fernandes, Rosinda da Cunha Amorim, Armanda da Cunha, Mary da Cunha, Sameira da Cunha Freitas, and Lina da Cunha Fernandes Canavan; and girlfriend, Deolinda Sarabando.

A gathering of friends and family will take place at Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 SE Floresta Drive Port St. Lucie, Florida 34983 on Thursday July 14, 2016 from 12-1 pm with a funeral service at 1 pm. Committal Services will follow at Fernhill Memorial Garden in Stuart, Florida.
