Arthur graduated from Richmond Hill High School in Queens, NY, in 1950. He served in the Army during the Korean war from 1953-55.
On June 18, 1955, Arthur married Marilyn Jean Woodworth in Cicero, IL. They met at a party where both were last-minute invitees. Arthur proposed 2 weeks later. They would have been married 60 years shortly after Marilyn's passing.
After high school and following his military service, Art pursued a career as a tradesman in the field of Lithography. He eventually progressed to the level of "First Pressman." Before his retirement, he was employed as a consultant for a foreign-owned company on-site in Japan to operate a printing press he had professional experience with. He shared that unique experience with Marilyn by his side and later with friends and family on their return.
Arthur and Marilyn were always active members of their community and church. Their charitable giving continued through their retirement years as they continued volunteer work with numerous organizations. They maintained active participation and support of the churches they belonged to, including Prince of Peace in Brentwood, NY, and St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Art enjoyed many activities, including travel, golf, reading, boating, and fishing. He loved sports, especially the New York Mets. He enjoyed watching the St. Lucie Mets and seeing the rising baseball stars. He was honored to throw out the first pitch at one of their home games during spring training.
