

Born in Thomas, West Virginia, Barbara was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL for the past 21 years, moving from Maryland.
She was a graduate of the University of West Virginia (Master), and Frostburg State College.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Flinn was a Teacher for the Maryland Public School System for 40 years.
Barbara was a member of the National Education Association (NEA), the Maryland State Teacher’s Association, Business Professional Women (BPW – member for 40+ years and received Woman of the Year on two different occasions), League of Women Voters (helped found local chapter in MD), Church Women United, very active in the life of her church, and a member of the Harmony Singers at the Savannah Club in Port St. Lucie, FL.
She was preceded in death by one son, Eugene M. Flinn, II and one daughter, Sharon E. Avery.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Flinn of Port St. Lucie, FL; two sons, Robert M. Flinn and his wife Amy of Sacramento, CA, Gregory P. Flinn and his wife Carol of Cranberry Township, PA; five grandchildren, Eugene Kight, Karina Flinn, Alexis Flinn, Angie O’Rourke and Harry Riggleman; and four great-grandchildren, Jessica & Michael O’Rourke and Emily and Owen Riggleman.
A Memorial service – Hope Lutheran Church, 1750 SE Lennard Rd, Port St Lucie, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 11am.
Inurnment will be at St John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Redhouse, Maryland. (Service -- August 11, 2014 at 11am).
