Born August 25, 1944 in Toronto, Canada to the late William Crooks and Clara (Lamb) Crooks, he was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL since 1987, moving from Syracuse, NY. He held dual citizenships.
Brad graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1963. While in Syracuse, NY, he was a member of IBEW Local 43.
In Port St. Lucie, FL, Mr. Crooks owned and operated Brad’s Electric and Air Conditioning.
He was an avid golfer, receiving two “hole in ones” and the Johnnie Walker award. Brad was a sports fan, who loved the NY Giants and Syracuse University Orange as well as the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Team. He played hockey on the IBEW Local 43 League and Syracuse Stars. He was a member of the Port St. Lucie American Legion 318, West St. Lucie Elks #2823, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, and Treasure Coast Business on the Green. Brad enjoyed theme parks, was a fan of Elvis and loved dogs, including his own Domino.
He was a devoted and loving husband of 40 years to wife Paula (Romeo) Crooks and loving father to daughter, Elissa A. Crooks.
Also surviving is a sister, Cheryl LeBeau and husband Allen of Flagler Beach, FL; a niece Jayna and nephew Jason; his aunt Millie Clements and several cousins all of Canada; sister-in-laws, Felicia of Boca Raton and Angela Romeo-Sharp and husband Steve of Syracuse, NY; Robert “Anthony” Giesemann, whom he thought of as a grandchild; two sons, Bradley Crooks, Jr. of Rush, NY, Jeffrey Crooks of Brewerton, NY and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Crooks.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 2:00PM – 6:00PM at the Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie, FL. A Prayer Vigil will be recited at 6:00PM.
Inurnment of his ashes will be at a later date.
