

Cora Ann Kern, lovingly known for her strength, warmth, and unwavering faith, slipped away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was born on September 5, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan.
Cora was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Clifton Harris Kern, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage, and by her beloved daughter, Billie Ann Petraitis. She is survived by her three daughters, Desi Kern, Bonita Schultz, and Mary Beth Wright along with 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
Cora worked and retired from Ford Motor Company as an administrative assistant and dedicated 30 years of service.
In retirement, Cora and Cliff shared a deep love of adventure and the open road. Together, they traveled across the United States in their cherished fifth wheel, creating lasting memories as they camped and made lifelong friends along the way. Those journeys were a testament to their enduring partnership and joyful spirit. She also had a deep love of Detroit Tiger Baseball.
A woman of strong and abiding faith, Cora found great comfort and community in her church family at Palm Beach Gardens Baptist Church. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was evident in her kindness, resilience, and compassion toward others. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and lap warmers for the ladies of the church.
Cora will be remembered for her tenacity, her devotion to family, and her steadfast belief in God. She leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A visitation will be on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 from 9-11am at Aycock Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie, FL. The funeral service will follow at 11am followed by a burial at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL.
