David B. Pfister, age 58, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2017 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. David was born in Midland MI in 1959 to Ralph and Phyllis Pfister and moved to the Valley Forge, PA area in elementary school. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, and his younger brother Thomas. Survivors include his mother Phyllis Pfister, brothers Ronald (Carol) Pfister, Daniel Pfister, their children, Uncle Thomas (Moree) Baranski and several cousins.
David was the number three of four Pfister boys born to Phyllis and Ralph. He had an open, engaging and welcoming personality, always eager to meet new people and friends, always fit in and he was the true “life of the party” as his friends would say. David always had a smile on his face and was never troubled or bothered by the many challenges of youth and early adulthood. He was a loving brother and son. He was active in youth sports and found a love for swimming. David mastered all four strokes, always beat his brothers in the pool, and set numerous event records at the local YMCA and High School that stood for over a decade.
Dave graduated from Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA and later earned an Associate degree from Delaware Community College. He worked in construction and later moved to Florida where he earned a steady income as a roofing contractor.
David always found humor with nicknames. Seldom did he call anyone by their formal name. He had a name for all his friends, his brothers and anyone he could attach a meaning too, many of which were quite funny. His friends reciprocated and called him “fish” for his love of the pool and the rhyming of his last name. His uncles called him the Jolly Green Giant since he was tall and easygoing.
Dave was a loyal Philadelphia sports fan. He attended many of the professional games, followed them continually while living in Florida and was an active participant when the Flyers and the Phillies won the championship. Dave will be sorely missed by his many friends and family members.
The burial will be private in King of Prussia, PA on October 13th. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to either:
