David was the youngest of three children of the late Mathew & Annie McGregor, born February 16, 1938 in Stanley, County of Durham in England. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church.
David served in the Merchants Marine in UK for 2 years. Thereafter, He got a job at Cummins Engine Company in Darlington, England. A promotion was given to him, an overseas assignment at Cummins Diesel Sales Corporation in Singapore as Head of the Distribution Center, where he was responsible
for the South East Asia Division. Fate brought him there where he met his wife Linda, who was also on an overseas assignment from Cummins Engine Company, main office in Columbus, Indiana. While in Singapore, the sports he played was a fast game of Squash & Golf, of course. Five years later, both of them were recalled to the main office. After a couple of years, the family was relocated to Hialeah, Florida for another new assignment. Not long after, they had to be back to the main office. David was assigned to do different management jobs, last one was Marketing Manager. After 37 years of continuous dedicated work & service to the company, already tired but felt fulfilled, he finally decided to retire in 2002. In 2006, the family moved to live for good in Port St Lucie.
He enjoyed his retirement years with his family, especially caring & playing with his two cute, very young granddaughters.
Playing golf was his favorite sports. He had fun, met friends & enjoyed their company. He was a golf enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Lontok - Sowden; sons, David Earl & Andrew Ian; daughter & son in law, Janet & David Potter; granddaughters, Arianna & Anastasia Sowden; a sister in Canada, Betty Clark; brother & sister in law in Australia, Douglas & June Sowden; nephews & nieces & their souses in Canada, Susan & Henry & Michael Wojelo, Andrew Clark & Kim Kelly, David & Joan Clark.
