

The family of Delores M. Pyne of Port St. Lucie Florida is saddened to announce her passing on July 27th, 2025, at the age of 84. Delores was born in Kingston, Jamaica on August 19, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Eloise and Carlos Ryfkogel.
She grew up in Kingston, Jamaica where she graduated from high school in 1957. She went on to CAST College in Jamaica where she received her certification in business administration. Delores was a lifelong learner. She later graduated from Barry University in Miami with a BA in professional studies.
Delores started her career as an executive secretary at Motor Sales in Kingston. She later emigrated to the USA and furthered her career.
These included a post at the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Washington D.C, administrative assistant at J.P. Stevens in New York City and an officer at Southeast Bank in Miami. Delores retired in 2009 from her job as a Human Resources administrator at the University of Miami.
Even in retirement Delores was never idle. She was an 18-year volunteer at St. Lucie Hospital Medical Center, and an avid puzzle and sudoku enthusiast.
Delores’ true passion was travel. She completed her bucket list before she died. She made several trips to England, and visited most of the countries in Europe, the Caribbean, and some countries in South America. However, the highlight of her life was her visit to Israel and the Middle East with her church in 2008. The trips to the various historical sites brought to life all the stories she read in the Bible. Part of the trip included being baptized in the River Jordan.
She was an active member of the Morningside Church in Port St. Lucie for 20 years and was devoted to bible studies.
Delores is survived by her daughter Michelle LaFarge, grandchildren Erin Bersak LaFarge (Daniel Bersak), James LaFarge, and Robert LaFarge; great grandchildren Tali, Zeke and Elijah Bersak.
Delores is also survived by her sisters Veta Gardner, Virginia Flemmings (Ashton Flemmings) and brother Keith Ryfkogel (Sunshine Ryfkogel). As well as her beloved nephews, nieces and cousins.
Delores will be sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbors.
