Hi Mom, Just sent a message to dad to. I missed saying Xristos Anesti to you and dad. It's been a little crazy with Tommie's bout with double pneumonia and hospitalizations. Christos Anesti to you and Dad.  Rhea and Tommie were in and the family was all together like the old days celebrating in full Greek style.  We even recruited Katelyn to her first midnight mass.  So many wonderful memories of Easter and our traditions.  Miss you and Dad so very much.  It was so good to have all the kids here - and you would have loved it.

Christos Anesti Mom, We all celebrated Grrek Easter together this year.There was 20 of us with Robert and Helen. We had it at Pam's and I cooked all our traditional food. We talked about you and dad as that's where our traditions started. We love and miss you every day.

Hi Mom, Happy New Year. This year I had to get the Vasilopita here in Florida. I sent, like I always do, bread to all the kids. The grandkids just love having it and finding the coin. So this year Tommie, Pam, Samantha, Cameron and Christian found the money in their piece. This has been a record for Cameron, something like 4 times in a row. Poor Katelyn.lol But they love the tradition and I won't stop sending the bread. I remember how we use to make the breads together. Lots of hard work, dad had to do some of the kneeding of the dough for us. But how wonderful the house smelled. It's so good to have that memory forever. Kids will have it also. Love You Mom

Hi Mom, Merry Christmas, and a Merry one it is this year, since I made it through the surgery and hospital. Thank You for being my guardian Angel and getting me through this like I am. Missed having you here to help take care of me like you did after my hysterectomy. I might have scared you this time though. Christmas 2014. Miss having you here with us, the smells of your baking and (oh my I just looked at the computer clock and it says 9:18)you and Andy cooking in the kitchen.  I miss coming home and seeing you in the back room reading and all bundled up or at the kitchen table with your puzzles.  You always made Christmas crazy and fun.  The best hostess you were by far. Happy, belated, Thanksgiving, Mom. I made a whole turkey dinner, soup to nuts and it felt good to be able to do it again. The parade on and the smells of turkey and stuffing cooking brought back good memories, when we were all together.  I miss that and you and Dad so much..holidays just don't seem the same to me.

Hi mom, I'm here to wish you a Very Happy Mother's Day. Hopefully, you know how much we all miss you. You will love the fact that I say something and look behind me because I thought it was you. But, no, it's me saying what you would say...lol. Pam and I have been posting pictures of you and going back and forth with such great memories of you. As far back as our childhood. You were the modern one trying to give Alice and I what young girls needed, bras, a little lipstick and to be able to shave when it was the right time. You had to fight with dad about this a lot. He was old fashioned that way. Lol I know if you were here with us we would be getting some good laughs in at your expense, because you were so funny and set in your ways too. We miss it all and love you everyday. Know that you are forever with us as we make our way through this life. Tell you it's hard going to see Alice in your condo with so much of you still there. It keeps her close to you.

My Tribute to My Mom
Dear Mom,
You sure were one tough lady, some rough edges, and you never held back what you were thinking….good or bad.  You could intimidate the best of them but your compassionate, soft and loving heart shined brightly through to all who knew and loved you.  Your bark was far bigger than your bite.  Growing up in the 1930's where girls were in the background and the boys were everything made you feisty and competitive.  Your strong family values were your greatest gift to us and the sacrifices you made for us to make sure we didn't want for anything will never be forgotten.  You were a working mom through my childhood and adult years and you always managed a hot home cooked meal after your full day at work.  And god help us if we didn't tread carefully the next morning…the paint was still drying, the furniture rearranged…the kitchen newly wall papered.  You never knew what you would find or walk into.  Your energy was boundless even into your 80's when you still were baking and cooking up a storm.   
Your love for cooking and bringing the family all together was my greatest joy as a kid and never fully appreciated as I do today looking back at the times spent and shared with my sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles.  I remember our house as the hub for the parties and family holidays.  We were loud and loving. You and dad repeatedly said to us your family is everything, stick close.  What would you think of us today?  Facebook, Facetime, Instagram and Texting are the new glue that keeps the family in touch and together.
Looking back at your old photos your sense of style and love of fashion was so apparent.  The hats, the gloves, the shoes and suits….everyone looked so glamorous and put together.  Every August before school we would (until 16 I'm sure it was cooler to shop with girlfriends) shop together.  Of course, my shoes had to match my pocketbook and I remember picking out a pair of cranberry suede pilgrim shoes and my bag to match that I wore to death.  It took me until my 30's to break the habit that my shoes did not have to match my pocketbook.  But I still don't wear white before Memorial Day and not after Labor Day.  Lol.   Seems the only fashion passion we shared was shoes and our love for them.  Even in your 80's you were still wearing your wedge shoes and bustling all around.  And your outfits coordinated with your jewelry and make up always on.   I clearly did not take after you there in that department.  
You introduced me to books, which is still my favorite pastime and enjoyment, and soap operas.  Peyton Place was our show and you would let me stay up past my bedtime to watch it with you.  Later it was Knots Landing.  And I know you would love Revenge if you were here today with us.  Not sure if that is considered a soap though.
So many memories, so many thank you's.  As they say, everyone has a mother but not everyone has a mother's love.  I was blessed to have both and unconditionally.  There truly is no love unlike any other like the love from your mother.  It is a forever link and bond with a love that is unconditional, absolute, infinite and profound.
Happy Mother's Day Mom in Heaven.      Thank you for the love, the lessons, the support and the gift of life.

Merry Christmas Mom,I know this is early, but we will be in NY and I won't be able to send from there. Just want to say Happy New Year also. You have to see what I've been doing with our Women's Club. It's been keeping me busier than I thought. I'm the secretary. Happy Thanksgiving Mom, I was all ready to send this message the night before Thanksgiving and decided to wait till the morning of and I forgot. I'm so bad. I was just thinking how much you and Dad would love our house and your own guest cottage. You would have fun in the kitchen baking and cooking. Hope you see it all. As usual we miss being together on Thanksgiving. The good thing is we still have it here with Turkey and all the trimmings. Left overs tonight. Love and Miss You always.

Hi Mom, Christos Anesti! Rob came to Florida with his girlfriend, Dani, and I made Lamb chops, at his request, our soup and spanakopeta, dani's request. We had our bread and eggs for breakfast and went to Rhea's for Easter Sunday. We had a wonderful time and everything was delicious. Miss you and Love you.

Hi Mom, Love and Miss You. We had such a nice Easter, just wish Pam and Andy were here. But there were with Uncle George and Aunt Arg, cousins too. I made your special fasolakia, everyone loved them even Tommie. Hope you are all having a good time, relaxed and feeling well up there. Was so sorry to learn of Demi's passing.  I sent a Christmas card and it came back so I googled her name and found out.  I worked with her in Pergament. Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I have your plates and dolls around and people who see them always comment how beautful they are..but I still wish you and Dad were here so we could all be together for the Holidays.  I made the Greek cookies this year and they came out great. Xmas eve I will put out a little spread for some friends and neighbors and I'll make my eggnog. Haven't made spanikopeta and meatballs in a while but I know it will come out fine, it always does.  Miss you and love you always.

Lorraine says I can have her mom if I want - lol -  I want her to enjoy her mom and appreciate her as much as she can while she still has her. How can I explain it to her you never get over losing a mom you just get through it.  A mom is so much harder and different than a dad. Hi Mom, Well tomorrow will be one year since you passed away. We can't believe it and miss you terribly. Uncle George just confessed that he misses you a lot.
