It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward “Ed” Charles Haluch, who left us peacefully on August 15, 2024, at the age of 68. Ed was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend.
Ed was born on July 14, 1956, in Ludlow, Massachusetts. He was the dear son of Edward Haluch(deceased) and Helen (Sasur) Haluch(deceased), brother to siblings, Stanley Haluch(deceased), Dorothy(Haluch) Will(deceased), Carol(Haluch) Wilson(deceased), Cathy(Haluch)Harrica and Stella(Haluch)Backus.
Upon moving to Florida in 1986, Ed embarked on a distinguished career with Publix Super Markets. Dedication and hard work, instilled by his challenging childhood, allowed Ed to retire with 32 years of exemplary service. Many sacrifices were made during this tenure to ensure his family was taken care of showing his true selflessness. His ability to prioritize the well-being of others resulted in Ed becoming known by many as a pillar within the community.
Ed had a profound love for history and a deep admiration for all things military. When not working on projects around the house or cooking a delicious meal, he would be found enjoying the simple pleasures of life, his favorite of all being simply gazing out into nature, especially during rainfall. The little bit of television that he enjoyed would be either a wartime movie, current events, or his favorite comedic trio “ The Three Stooges”, Larry, Moe and Curly. It is safe to say that his fondness of the trio contributed to his whimsical sense of humor that was sought and loved by friends and family.
A devoted family man, Ed is survived by his loving wife, Doris(Gaumond) Haluch with whom he shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with. He leaves behind his three children: Danielle Haluch, Nickolaus Haluch(spouse, Kathrine), and Kyle Haluch(spouse, Marisol). He was a proud and adoring grandfather to six grandchildren: Trinity Clendenin, Paityn Sharpe, Andres Pacheco, Lennox Haluch, Everett Haluch, and Griffin Haluch.
Ed’s mentorship impressed valuable skills onto many lives as he guided and inspired countless individuals in various facets of life. Known for his unwavering support, Ed never missed an opportunity to attend his children’s sporting events, creating countless memories that his family will cherish forever.
The family will hold a private memorial service to honor Ed’s life on August 31, 2024 at 11:00am at the family residence. Friends and family are welcome to stop by and pay their condolences. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ed, you will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved you. Your legacy of selflessness, dedication, and true life of virtue will live on in all our hearts and actions forever. We will seek subtle signs of your presence as we continue our journey until we make it home with you once again.
“No use dwelling on the past. All we can do is pick up the pieces and move forward.”
