December 22, 1936 - November 25, 2025.
Elizabeth A. Mosier, 88, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on November 25, 2025, at 9:55 a.m., surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Wheelwright, Kentucky, Elizabeth lived a full and generous life that took her through Kentucky, Ohio, Oklahoma, and finally Florida. She built a long and dedicated career beginning as a cosmetologist for 35 years before moving into the Department of Corrections. She later ended her working years as a compassionate and steady nurse's aide.
Elizabeth’s greatest joy was always her family. She loved her church, as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and filling her home with genuine warmth and good food. Her famous baked beans, and her equally legendary Buckeye candies were both considered by many to be the “8th wonder of the world.” She enjoyed watching game shows, playing games, and challenging friends and family to word games on her phone. Her home was always the center of inspiration for so many, always open, always welcoming, and always full of kids, and love.
She was known affectionately by many names such as Mom, Momma Boots, Ma Mosier and Aunt Boots. She had a gift for making everyone feel like family. She raised not only her own children, but many others who found comfort, safety, and laughter under her roof. She never missed a game, a play, a concert, or any moment that mattered to her children or grandchildren. When her grandchildren were born, she would drive 13 hours from Pensacola, just to babysit, never once hesitating to be there when she was needed. She was, in every sense, the heart of the family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don W. Mosier Sr. (2009), and her son Scott B. Mosier (1995). She is survived by her brothers, John and Carol Woods of Caledonia, Ohio, and Effert “Bud” (Gwen) Woods of Meeker, Ohio, and her sons; Don “Skip” W. Mosier Jr. (Joanna) and James A. Mosier “Mo”, and two(who mom thought of as sons) Vernon A. Peterson, and Erick Kazee.
Her grandchildren; Danielle C. Nowell, Scott A. Mosier, Tyler J. Mosier, and Logan G. Mosier; Naomi P. Lewis, Joshua J. Rodriguez, and Miryssa R. Rodriguez.
She leaves behind a large extended family, of nieces, and nephews with countless friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, humor, and unwavering love.
Elizabeth was the heart and soul of her family. She was a dedicated and loving presence whose legacy lives on in all their hearts. She was the greatest mother, grandmother, and prayer warrior anyone could ever ask for. She will be deeply missed.
