

EUGENE CARL WENSMAN, 89, of Port St. Lucie, FL, died July 9, 2012, at his home. Eugene was a great inspiration to all who knew him, especially after suffering a disabling stroke in 1993. Born in Chokio, MN, Eugene was a resident of Florida since retiring in 1979. During WWII and the Korean War, he served as an aviator in the US Navy, captaining dirigibles and training jet fighter pilots. Prior to retirement, he was a Post Master in Chokio, MN, and Postal Inspector in Mason City, IA, Little Rock, AR and St. Louis, MO. In retirement Eugene became a certified professional tennis instructor and an avid golf enthusiast. Eugene was a member of Calvary Chapel, Port St. Lucie West, and a member of the Retired Postal Inspectors Association. Survivors include his wife of eighteen years, Aloysia Wensman; two sons, Charles Wensman of Minneapolis, MN, Randall Wensman of Scottsdale, AZ; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan McNally of Chokio, MN and Audrey Lang of Sun City, AZ. He was predeceased by brothers Martin and Alvin Wensman and sisters Mary Jane Wensman, Eileen Olson, and Florence Fitzsimmons. A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, July 11, 2012, 4 PM at the Aycock Funeral Home Chapel in Port St. Lucie, FL, with military honors.
