Born in Norwalk, CT, and raised in Brookfield, CT, Frank was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL for 12 years, moving from Glastonbury, CT.
He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut, earning his degree in accounting. After graduating, he served briefly in the US Army, and was honorably discharged.
Prior to retirement Mr. Ellmer was an Accountant for Ernst & Young in Hartford, CT for 37 years, retiring as a partner in the audit practice.
Frank was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. He served on the Finance Committee in Brookfield, CT and formerly served on the Finance Council at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in East Hartford, CT as well at St. Dunstan Catholic Church in Glastonbury, CT. He also formerly served on the Board of Trustees for the Phoenix Edge Series Fund for several years. Mr. Ellmer was a member of St. Bernadette Church in Port St. Lucie, FL.
He was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Karl Ellmer.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Rosemarie Ellmer of Port St. Lucie, FL; three daughters, Teresa Buckley and husband John of Vienna, VA, Catherine Brooker and husband David of Washington, DC, Christina McIntosh and husband Andrew of Jensen Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Katherine and Emma Buckley and Elizabeth and Sam McIntosh; and one sister, Emma Smith of Lower Gwyned Hunt, PA..
Services will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 19 at All Saints Church, 2303 NE Seaview Drive, Jensen Beach, FL with Internment following at All Saints Cemetery.
