Garrett J Hammond

Garrett (Gary) J. Hammond, age 71, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Garrett was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada to Peter K. Hammond and Carmel (Whiffen) Hammond. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter, his brother, Mark, and his grandson, Jaden.

He is survived by his wife of over forty years Colleen (Welch) Hammond, son, Duke (Judy) Hammond, daughter Kelsey Hammond, grandchildren, Lisa, Kole, Skye, and Trey, great-grandchildren, Sophie and Arianna. He is also survived by his mother, Carmel Hammond, sister Barbara (George) Spray, brothers, Peter, Paul, and James, numerous nieces, and nephews and in-laws who love him dearly.

Garrett (Gary) graduated from Austin High School in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly thereafter he moved to God’s country - Colorado. After thirty-eight years, he retired as a meatcutter from Safeway and moved to Florida five years later.
