Gene was a man of undaunted spirit, deep faith and most of all, devotion to others in his service and generosity. During his 77 years, he faced great personal challenges and turned each of them into lessons that he brought to those he touched in his life. Fellowship in Alcoholics Anonymous was a guiding principle in his daily actions for over the last four decades. Through this work, he profoundly altered the lives of many for the better. Gene was reborn to the teachings of Jesus Christ and was a devoted member of Discovery Church in Port St. Lucie.
Those who knew him best cannot help but fondly recall his kind spirit, his warmth, that mischievous smile and laugh, along with his hard-headed and occasionally prickly nature. Gene was ultimately and unforgettably a lasting presence in the lives of many.
Carrying his memory and his life force forward in time are wife Paulette, daughters Nancy and Sally, grandchildren Ian, Samantha, Jimmy and Sophie, step family Jodi and Shaniah, sons-in-law John and Jim, brothers Phil, John, Bob and so, so many others.
A celebration of Gene’s life will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 Southeast Floresta Dr., Port St. Lucie, FL 34983: Informal gathering at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 am.
