George S. Wheat Jr.

Born in New York, NY, George was a resident of the Treasure Coast for 30 years, moving from CT.

During WWII, he served in the United States Navy.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Wheat was an Aircraft Manager for Republic Aviation in ashington DC and United Technologies in Hartford, CT for 40 years.

He was a former member of BPO Elks in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Joanne Wheat of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters Laura Stroup and husband Richard of Purcelville, VA, Carolyn Kelly and husband Patrick of Port St. Lucie, FL; one son, George S. Wheat, III of Billerica, MA; eight grandchildren Richard William Stroup, Robert Wheat Stroup, Clifford Walsh Stroup, Christine Kiernan Stroup, William Patrick Kelly, Christopher Ryan Kelly, Katherine Ensley Kelly and Mikaela Elizabeth Kelly.

George was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Edward Wheat.

Services will be private.
