

He was born in Bogotá Colombia to Emperatriz Saavedra and Hermogenes Guayana.
Jorge is survived by his only son, Omar Fernando and daughter-in-law Alina Beatriz as well as four siblings Luis Agusto, Efrain, Graciela and Holga Guayana.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 53 years Maria Obdulia and two sisters Beatriz and Marinita Guayana.
During his youth he played soccer and toured on his bicycle throughout the countryside of his native country Colombia.
He served honorably in the Colombian Navy for four years, three years active and one year reserve. During his service, he received training as electrician and after honorable service he attended SENA Technical school to continue his training and achieve his certification of a journeyman electrician.
He immigrated to the United States of America in 1972 along with his family where he continued his career and eventually retire.
After retiring, he began volunteer services with his parish Saint Lucie Catholic Church where he attain his credentials as a scripture, reader, Eucharistic minister, and professor of the Roman Catholic Church history.
In his spare time, he loved to go fishing watching soccer, going to the beach and traveling on cruise ships. He was very active within the church and the Latin American community.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St Lucie Catholic Church, located at 425 SW Irving St, Port St. Lucie, FL, 34983, United States. The service is scheduled for November 15, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
