Joseph da Silva, 78, of Port St. Lucie, FL, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his home.Born in Horta Faial Azores, Portugal, he was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 14 years, moving from Cambridge, MA.Prior to retirement, he was a mechanic for trucking firms throughout the United States for 26 years.Joseph was predeceased by a sister, Lucia da Silva.Survivors include three sisters, Maria Amaral of Portugal, Maria A. Lima of Port St. Lucie, FL, Amelia Pimenta of NH; and one brother, Antero da Silva of Port St. Lucie, FL.There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, January 7, at 11:00 AM at the Aycock Funeral Home Chapel in Port St. Lucie.Arrangements are under the direction of Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie
