Joyce was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Leonard and Alice Thompson. She moved at a young age and was raised in New Jersey. In 1986 Joyce relocated to Florida where she resided until her passing. She was a great caretaker to her family and friends. She enjoyed Bingo and spending time at the arcade. Joyce cherished the time spent interacting with people. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, where she was known on more than one occasion to scare the children, which everybody enjoyed.
Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Vinny Maloney; brother, Leonard Dewitt; and sister, Linda Decker.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Hyson; son, Brian Maloney (Tonya), of Port St. Lucie; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hughes Maloney, of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren, Colleen Saturno, Savanna Hughes, Jonathan Hughes, McKinzie Maloney, and Wyatt Maloney; and great grand son, Domenick Maloney.
A gathering of friends and family will be Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 1:00PM - 2:30PM at the Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 SE Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL. A Memorial Service will follow on Saturday at 2:30PM.
