Born in Norfolk, VA, he grew up in Baden, NC and then Miami FL, delivering newspapers down "Millionaire's Row" on Brickell Ave in the 30s. Enlisting in the Navy in 1941 and serving for over 26 years, he proudly retired as a "Mustanger" with the rank of Lieutenant. During his Naval career, he and his ever-growing family lived around the world, including Miami, Guam, Washington DC, Japan and many places in California.
Retiring to Ft. Lauderdale, he returned to school, earned his Bachelor's Degree and began teaching high school Spanish, before moving onto a career with the Florida Court System. He and his devoted wife Betty also traveled for fun - to Hong Kong, to the Mediterranean and spent countless weeks enjoying their favorite vacation-cruising. They are proud to say they have visited every Caribbean Island, and crossed the Panama Canal. They danced their way across the oceans and the globe- inspiring and entertaining all with their amazing dancing abilities. He was a very loving husband, and doting father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be truly missed.
