Lorraine Cannis

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL for 28 years, moving from Plainfield, NJ.

Prior to retirement, she was a dental assistant in Plainfield, NJ. Moving to West Palm Beach, FL, Lorraine and her husband John were members of the Ballen Isle Country Club of North Palm Beach, where she was the 9 hole golf champion for 2 years.

Survivors include her husband Dr. John P. Cannis of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughters, Diane Cannis of Port St. Lucie, FL, Barbara Jenks of Macon, GA; step-daughters, Susan Fitzharris of Summerdale, NJ, Lynn Glascow of Toms River, NJ, two step-sons, John Cannis, Jr., of Piscataway, NJ, Robert Cannis of Toms River, NJ; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and sister, Dorothy Ekarius of Texas..

Friends and family may call Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM at the Aycock Funeral Home Chapel in Port St. Lucie, FL

A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, August 19, 2010 10AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach, FL, with entombment following at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta, FL.
