Marlene was born on June 14, 1969, at Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston Jamaica West Indies to Perulin and Keith Hibbert. She grew up in St. Andrews Jamica with her (5) siblings Jody, Garth, Nadine, Pheonia, and Tanya. She attended New Providence Primary School where she received a scholarship to Campion College while at Campion, she participated track and field, Arts & Crafts, Home Economics, and more.
In 1987, she met Albert Taylor, they later married and from their union they had her first son Ricardo Taylor. In February 1989 Marlene moved to Far Rockaway, New York with her sister Nadine where they joined their mom, dad, and younger siblings Pheonia, and Tanya. Her other siblings Jody and Garth later migrated to New York in the early 1990’s. In 1990 her parents moved to South Jamaica Queens where they continued to raise their children and grandchildren.
In 1990 Marlene attended Drake Business School where she studied Business Administration and Management. She enrolled in Borough Manhattan Community College in 1994 where she received her Associates degree in Nursing. While attending BMCC she worked as a Home Health Aide.
In 1994 Marlene met her soulmate Deon Anderson at an event on Linden Blvd. From their union they had (2) sons Dante and Brandon Anderson. In 2001 they moved their family to Fort Lauderdale, Florida then in 2003 proceeded on to their dream home in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Marlene started her love of service working as a Registered Nurse at Florida Medical Center from July 2001 to August 2003, she continued in her nursing career at Lawnwood Regional Medical where she worked up to date totaling 18 years of service. Throughout her time at Lawnwood Regional she advanced her career becoming a Critical Care Registered Nurse in July 2020 then becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner in August 2020.
Marlene loved being a nurse, cooking, styling, dining out, dancing, fishing, and sewing. She was an avid painter and artist. She loved to watch Benny Hill, a British comedy. She created her own hand made line Nurse Cap called “MarMarHibs” which was wore by many nurses throughout the hospital where she worked.
Marlene leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Peurlin Hibbert; partner, Deon Anderson; sons, Ricardo, Dante, Anderson, Brandon Anderson; grandson, Yosiah Anderson; her sisters, Jody, Nadine, Pheonia, and Tanya; brother, Garth Morris, sister-in-law, Shantell Harrison-Morris; brother-in-law's, Derrick Peak, Andrew Wallace, and Michael Belle, only remaining uncle from father’s side of the family, Simeon Hibbert, a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends who have been touched by her smile and inspired by her great personality. Marlene affectionally called “Mar-Mar will be loved and missed by all her family and friends.
