

Mary Louise, better known to her friends and family as M’Lu, was born on August 1, 1927 in New Haven, Connecticut. She was captain of her cheering squad and graduated from Milford High School. Later she was employed as a telephone operator supervisor for Southern New England until marrying in the fall of 1949. After her marriage, she moved to Florida where she and her beloved Douglas raised three children while building the family business together. Always a dedicated parent, M’Lu enjoyed spending time with her children volunteering as a room mother and Girl Scout Leader. She loved nature and history and was an active member of the Women’s Fellowship of Christ Congregational Church in Miami. There she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, volunteering in the church’s Thrift Shop, and numerous charity projects.
She is survived by her loving husband and partner in life of 63 years, Douglas, daughters Noreen Cooper of Okeechobee, Randy ‘Dee’ Palmer of Port St. Lucie, and son Kent Cooper of Charlotte, North Carolina, four granddaughters, Jaime, Keri, Kimberly, and Kaydee and great-grandson, Grayson.
