Mary C. McCann, 77, of Port St Lucie, passed away on September 17, 2021, at the St Lucie Medical Center in Port St Lucie, FL, in the presence of her husband Richard, daughter Laura and son Brian. Mary was born in 1943, where she was raised in the South Brooklyn section of Brooklyn, NY.
Mary attended Prospect Heights High School, then afterwards was employed at American Express, in New York City. While at American Express, she met her husband Richard in 1961. She married Richard in 1964 at St. Stephens Catholic Church, in Brooklyn, NY. Mary was the most sweet, compassionate, trusting, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and friend that anyone would want to have. Nanny was her second name to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She adored her family, and friends, and expressed her love as well with her multi-national style cooking and housekeeping skills. She was deeply religious in her Catholic faith, that she instilled in her four children.
Mary was pre-deceased by her parents Peter DeStefano, Laura Buccheri DeStefano, brother Peter DeStefano, and brother-in-law John J. McCann. She is survived by her loving husband Richard of 57 years, daughters Laura Davino, Patricia (Louis), Mary and partner Frank, son Brian (Lucia), grandchildren Vincent, Alexandria, Christine, Brittney, Richard, Brian, John, and Nina, great grandchildren Daniel, Joseph, and Anthony, sister Grace Russo (Andrew), brother-in-law Thomas McCann (Barbara), sister-in-law Margaret McCann and three nephews and four nieces.
