Born in Danbury, CT, at the age of 3 moved to a country estate in Mt. Kisco, NY, where his father supervised Estate Operation of 640 acres. Paul attended Horace Greeley School in Chappaqua, NY, where he was active in school Orchestra and Band. He played violin and sousaphone. He graduated High School in 1942 and got his first job in New York City at US Navy Dept. March 1943, followed by his parent's move to Coral Gables, FL. Mr. Hennings attended Embry-Riddle School of Aviation and graduated with a "CAA" Airplane Engine Mechanics license. Paul was sworn in to the US Army Airforce on Nov. 11, 1943 and served until March 28, 1946. He also attended B-24 School in Willow Run, Michigan in late 1944. In April, 1946 he was hired by Ethopian Airlines and lived in Addis, Ababa , Africa until moving back to Miami, FL in the fall of 1946. He started attending the University of Miami and married Gladys Mae Mitchell June 18, 1950. Paul graduated from the University of Miami February, 1953. Mr. Hennings was employed by Coral Gables Federal Savings & Loan, and moved to Stuart, FL and worked for 1st Federal of Martin County as Treasurer/Controller. He went on to become President and Director in 1971. He retired in the Florida Keys in 1990.
Paul was a member of Rotary Club for many years. He enjoyed boating and fishing and RV travel around the United States.
He had the pleasure to raise three children, Debra, Diane and Paul Jr.
Visitation will be Friday, June 15, 2018, fromm 2:00PM - 3:00PM at Aycock at Tradition Celebration Center, 12571 SW Tradition Parkway, Port St. Lucie, FL 34987. A Service will follow Friday at 3:00PM.
