Pearl Violet Baxter, 89, passed away on January 17th, in Port Salerno, Florida. Born in Lewistown, PA, Pearl graduated from Lewistown High School. She was employed by Cluett Peabody Company, Inc. as a seamstress before moving to Radford, Virginia in 1972.
She managed the fabric department of the Family Dollar Store in Radford, Virginia for severa l years. Pearl later relocated to Port St. Lucie, Florida in 1983 where she trained as a certified nursing assistant and worked doing private duty until her retirement at age 65. She enjoyed her plants, dogs, reading and puzzles, playing bingo with her friends, and watching Steelers football games.
Pearl was a member and Treasurer of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, L.A. # 3896 in Stuart, Florida.
She is survived by her sister, Lois Brannon Cosentino of Gibbsboro, New Jersey and Naples, Florida; daughters Mary Baxter White (Nick) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Jan Baxter Blackburn (Vernon) of Radford, Virginia; sons Michael Eugene Baxter (Shirley) of Maitland, William Roger Baxter (Rose) of Radford, Virginia, and Steven Douglas Baxter (Liz) of Radford, Virginia; her former husband, Harold Eugene Baxter of Waterbury, Connecticut, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is pre-deceased by her parents, Lewis Q. and Esther Mowery Brannon, sisters Betty Hale and Dorothy Speck, a son, Ronald Lewis Baxter, and a great-grandson, Linden Abraham Baxter.
