Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 31, 1920. He was the son of the late Herman and Clara Bredel. He graduated from St. George high school in Evanston, Illinois and attended Northwestern University school of Commerce studying accounting and statistics.
Robert was proud of his service during World War II with the 10th Army as a company clerk in the Bn. Hq. and later in the Pacific.
Before moving to Port St. Lucie , Bob and his family lived in Miami where he had a career as a financial accountant. He served as a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and was always active in his church. He was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church and an officer of their Senior Club.
Bob enjoyed gardening and making people laugh. He never met a stranger.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty. He was preceded in death by his brother Howard Bredel and sister-in-law Margaret. Surviving, in addition to his wife Betty, are his two daughters and their husbands: Beatrice and Robert Taylor of Savannah Georgia and Mary Kay and Michael McCleery of Hollywood Florida; his four grandchildren: Susan T. Nebl and her husband Andrew, Barbara T. Johnson and her husband Daniel, Paul Barnette, and Carolyn B. Woodger and her husband Ryan and four great Grandchildren: Hayden, Madelyn and Meredith Johnson and Nathan Nebl.
