

Mr. Ronald Edward Eliasek, age 69, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.
Ron was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1944 to the late James Gerald Eliasek Jr. and Blanche Kastus Eliasek. He grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where he lived until 2007.
Ron graduated from Benedictine High School in Richmond in 1962, where he was an All-State point guard on the basketball team. He received his BA in Business Administration from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1966. Ron received a Masters Certificate in Public Administration from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, in 1977.
Ron worked at the U.S. Department of the Treasury in Richmond as a Collection Manager from 1966 until his retirement after 33 years of public service in 1999. After his retirement, Ron served as Instructor of Tax Law until 2009 for new Treasury employees.
After meeting her on a blind date, Ron married Paula Anne Johnson on Valentine’s Day in 1970 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond. Paula was swept away by his blue eyes, sardonic wit, and gentlemanly demeanor. In 2007 Ron and Paula moved to Port St. Lucie, where Paula continues to reside.
Surviving Ron include their three children, their spouses, and six grandchildren: Ronald Edward Eliasek, Jr. and Courtney Caskey Eliasek of Charlotte, North Carolina, with daughters Alexandra and Shelby, and son Davis; Michael Grier Eliasek and Tristana McKendree Waltz of New York, New York, with daughter Remington; and Katherine Eliasek Wigginton and M. Neil Wigginton of Charlotte, North Carolina with daughters Abigail and Kasey. Ron's siblings include James G. Eliasek III, Barbara Eliasek Kirby, Janet Eliasek Toney, and Donna Eliasek Steinbach.
Ron served on the Stonehenge Golf & Country Club Board of Directors in Richmond and was a member of the St. James Golf Club League in Port St. Lucie. He was an active member of the Church of the Epiphany in Richmond and St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Ron dealt with this incurable disease for nearly his entire life.
