

Born October 17th, 1950 in Jersey City, NJ. He was raised a catholic in little Italy. At 4 years old he moved to a home in Secaucus, NJ where he learned pool and began his love of music. His sister Debra Nicolai was born a year later. He went to Catholic school, and Catholic college preparatory high school. He played guitar, bass guitar, piano and sang in many rock and dance bands all through this time. He eventually moved to Meriden CT. During his senior year of high school he started teaching guitar, joined the AFM musician’s union, and was a member his entire life. During these band years he was in a band call “Pegasus” with his good friend Joel Marchetti. He attended the Berkeley school of music in Boston, MA. He majored in instrumental performance, and composition and arranging. He started writing songs just after college. He’s served many jobs and eventually became a maintenance supervisor.
His son, Eric Alexander Nicolai was born on September 1st, 1970. He treasured all the time they spent together. Eric would tragically pass at 33 years old in a traffic accident. He later moved to CA in 1987 and was an extra in movies, commercials, and plays; later becoming a member of the Song Writers Guild of America.
He moved to Florida in 2007 to spend more time with his parents, Mary Nicolai and Bruno Nicolai.
Ronald studied many religions and philosophies and after much soul searching he came to the conclusion that the ultimate truth for him was Roman Catholicism as the one true “way” to spiritual enlightenment and salvation.
Ron loved playing his guitar, writing songs, and jamming with musicians.
He also enjoyed hiking, swimming, playing pool, spending time with friends, and sharing his life with his partner, Janice.
He was romantic, caring, kind, intelligent, dependable, creative, funny, and honest.
He tried to live his life with grace, class, dignity, and diplomacy.
Ron passed peacefully on October 24th of 2019.
He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
