January 24, 1928July 17, 2021

With heart felt sadness we announce the passing of Sarah “Sadie” Ronan Hagen, 93, on July 17, 2021. Sadie passed away at her home in Port Saint Lucie with family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Thomas Ronan, and her cherished second husband, Lawrence Hagen. Sadie often spoke about how lucky she was to have married two such wonderful men. Her sister, Maureen, and brother, Gerald, also predeceased her.

Sadie was born in 1928 in County Sligo, Ireland and moved to New York as a young woman. She loved to dance and won several waltz competitions at County sponsored dances. She was a pioneer for immigrant women having worked her way up the ranks to a management position at the CBS, Inc headquarters in New York City. She had a 30+ year career with CBS and was an indispensable member of the CBS on-site team in charge of switchboard communications for national presidential election coverage. Sadie moved to Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 1989 and felt fortunate to live close by her sister. They were often together, and many had difficulty telling them apart. She had a strong faith and was an active member of Saint Lucie Catholic Church. In 2020, Sadie was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer which metastasized to her liver and bones. This was a shocking diagnosis to all who knew her as she was extremely active and always on the go.

Sadie leaves behind her devoted nieces, nephews and stepchildren and a multitude of loving friends who will deeply miss her. She will forever be in their hearts.

Missing you-so smart, silly and oh so stubborn. The perfect blend. I'll miss our Sunday coffee & conversation more than you can imagine-sure hope they have good coffee up there. BTW, who has so many wonderful friends?! You touched my heart, & they touched my heart. I feel blessed to have been with you & to have gotten to know your other family-your devoted, loving friends.
