He was born February 19, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY to Walter C. Stamm and Clara Lutz, both of Switzerland.
Mr. Stamm served in the US Army from 1942 – 1946 with the Army Transportation Corps.
He attended Brooklyn College, the New York University and Teacher’s College earning a Master’s in music education and German.
He worked as a Music Librarian for NBC, taught high school music, chorus and piano in Queens, NY for 31 years.
Walter served as church organist and choral director for a number of churches in New York and Port St. Lucie, FL. Music and humor have opened many avenues of happiness and friendship for Walter.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Evelyn Stamm and a sister, Elizabeth Orman.
Survivors include his children, Heidi Bausch, Brian Stamm and his wife Gouzalia; and grandsons Marc Spehalski and Christopher Stamm.
A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, February 19, 2014, 11:00AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2200 NW Federal Highway, Stuart, FL.
