Born in Point Pleasant, NJ, he was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 10 years, moving from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where he lived for 30 years.
Prior to retirement, Walter was a Clerk for the US Post Office for 35 years, and after retirement, he worked part-time for the Home Depot in Fort Pierce for 8 years.
He was a member of the Treasure Coast Bible Assembly in Fort Pierce, FL
Mr. Whitehead enjoyed riding his Harley.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ellen Whitehead of Port St. Lucie, FL; a son, Patrick Whitehead (Karen) of Port St. Lucie, FL; a daughter, Tracey Hengstler of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Joshua, Heather, Connor and Jennifer; one brother, Steven Whitehead (Susan) of Coral Springs, FL and one sister Sandra Mezey (Phil) of Naples, FL.
Friends and family may call Monday, April 25, 2011 from 1:00PM – 2:00 PM at the Aycock Funeral home in Port St. Lucie, FL. A Service will be held Monday, April 25, 2011, 2:00PM at the Funeral Home, with interment following at Rolling Oaks Cemetery, Port St. Lucie, FL.
